The greatest thing that has happened in the past few months has been that I no longer feel haunted by the last 5 years of my life. I can put on the time like a shirt that is only slightly ill-fitting, slightly faded. I can put it on when it feels appropriate. No longer do I quietly admit to myself that it has been very hard. It’s unnecessary.
